Westray has lots of nesting birds at present including Arctic terns, Arctic and Great skuas, not to mention the hundreds of seabirds on the cliffs. Here is a baby Wren and a baby Meadow Pipit.
The beaches have revealed interesting insects, egg cases and fossils.
Sea sandwort is actually edible.
There has been an influx of migratory Painted Lady butterflies to Westray and Orkney.
